MISSION:
BRINGING GOVERNMENT CLOSER TO THE PEOPLE

On behalf of the participating seven member jurisdictions, the Commission operates a cable television channel called Metro Cable 14.

Currently, Metro Cable cablecasts the regular weekly meetings of:

• Sacramento County Board of Supervisors
• Sacramento City Council

The bi-weekly meetings of:

• Elk Grove City Council
• Citrus Heights City Council
• Folsom City Council
• Rancho Cordova City Council
• Galt City Council

In addition, bulletin board messages about government services and informational programs are cablecast daily.

Special Metro Cable programming includes election forums and budget deliberations

• North Highlands Recreation & Park District
• Sacramento Air Quality Management District
• Sacramento Area Flood Control Agency

Meeting Coverage Procedures

Local government meetings are covered gavel-to-gavel (beginning to end) with no editing. Each meeting is cablecast at least twice. Some meetings are covered live with additional tape-delayed playback(s), while others receive tape-delayed playback only.

All of the meetings are closed-captioned, with the exception of North Highlands Recreation and Park District, Sacramento City Unified School District, and Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District.

Metro Cable does not provide dubbing services, nor does it archive or serve as an official meeting record keeper. For official records, contact the Clerk of the respective agency. Meeting Copies are available from the Sacramento County Public Library System 7-10 days following meetings.
